How does this upswing "spell trouble" for society?

Wohlberg Answers:

The real problem is the supernatural world, and who inhabits it. Both Harry Potter and Wicca have created explosive interest in the occult. In Wicca, practitioners summon real spirits to aid them in their magical efforts. Wiccans don’t believe in the Bible, or in the existence of “the devil and his angels” (see Matthew 25:41). They think these “spirits” are the spirits of nature (or various deities), and they naively open their hearts to these supernatural forces without realizing the damage they can inflict upon their minds, emotions, and ultimately, to their souls. Read Mark 5. Look at the ruin “evil spirits” (fallen angels) can do after entering individuals. The more society becomes desensitized to witchcraft (through Harry Potter, etc), and the more people start dabbling in the occult, then the more harm these malicious, invisible entities can do. Have you heard of the BTK serial killer (Wichita, KS)? “A demon entered me when I was quite young,” he confessed from prison. When these “demons” enter human hearts, people eventually lose control of themselves. The result is an increase of abuse, violence, murder, and suicide. Wiccans themselves oppose these things, but the spirits that Wiccans are summoning don’t. The Bible says that when “the devil” comes in, he eventually takes people captive to “do his will” (see 2 Tim. 2:26). This is what “spells trouble” for society. Skeptics may not believe this, but it is the truth.
