There’s a big difference. J.K. Rowling has publicly admitted that at least 30% of her novels is based on real occultism. She has done her homework. The Harry Potter novels are a unique blend of fantasy and reality. Unlike most children’s books that contain some form of magic” the Harry Potter novels refer to real places (London, the King’s Cross railway station, America, Africa, France, Ireland, Peru, Egypt, etc.), real occultists (Aldabert Waffling and Nicholas Flamel), real practices (astrology, palmistry, fortune-telling, divination), and real occult philosophy. Based on my research, the extent of real occultism embedded into “children’s literature” is unprecedented.
